With Yamaha's famous Deltabox-style chassis and the CP3 engine at its heart, it's no surprise the TRACER 9 GT continues to redefine the sport touring class. With Yamaha's DNA running through it, TRACER 9 GT is a sportbike when you want, while being equally at home touring with a passenger and luggage. Semi-active electronic suspension adapts to your circumstances and riding preferences, while other intelligent technology includes a unified braking system with Vehicle Hold Control and, in a world first, a new Matrix LED headlight, which automatically adjusts the light beam to give maximum visibility at all times.
Shift your focus
Full of specification beyond expectations of a 'middleweight' the TRACER 9 GT packs a real punch. New bodywork and a tall, electrically adjustable, windscreen all add to the comfort and adaptability of the GT, with even more space to accommodate a pillion and rider, who has the benefit of a two-step adjustable saddle. As the name suggests, the TRACER 9 GT has what it takes to take on big journeys – but above all it has been designed to be a fun and engaging motorcycle.
Designed to take on the roads of life, the TRACER 9 GT is packed with clever engineering and design solutions to ensure the best possible riding experience. Lightweight wheels, constructed using Yamaha's SpinForge process and shod with bespoke Bridgestone tyres, contribute to a light and agile machine, beautifully matched to the playful three-cylinder crossplane engine and lean-sensitive electronic rider aids.
All-new Matrix LED headlight
In a world first in the motorcycle sector, the adaptive Matrix LED headlight provides illumination like never before. Linked to a camera built into the fairing, the system detects surrounding traffic conditions and automatically controls individual LEDs within the matrix to deliver an optimally shaped beam of light to maintain illumination.
A new era of shifting with Y-AMT* (on Y-AMT model)
Experience a new way of riding with the choice of fully automatic (AT) or manual (MT) shifting via a finger-operated see-saw switch. Invigorating when you want, easy when you need, Y-AMT works in perfect harmony with the cutting-edge Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) electronic features to elevate the riding experience and deliver the perfect engine and transmission characteristics to suit the riding conditions and their own personal preferences.
Intelligent braking system with Vehicle Hold Control* (on Y-AMT model)
The TRACER 9 GT’s Unified Brake System incorporates a hydraulic unit to automatically distribute braking force to both wheels, adjusting the brake bias to assist topping power and controllability of the machine. In conjunction, the Vehicle Hold Control intuitively applies rear brake pressure when stopped, to allow seamless take-offs when on an incline or slope.
Premium backlit switchgear* (on Y-AMT model)
The TRACER 9 GT Y-AMT features premium new backlit switchgear to allow easy operation of all features at night. The ergonomically designed controls include a five-way joystick linked to the 7" TFT dashboard and a finger-operated see-saw switch for manual gear changes.
7" TFT dashboard with fully integrated Garmin navigation
The 7" TFT incorporates three themes and comes with Garmin LinkBox connectivity to provide integrated navigation, while calls, messages and music can be received through the Yamaha MyRide App and controlled using the five-way joystick on the left hand switch cube. A dedicated smart phone storage box includes a USB-A outlet for charging on the go.
Third generation quickshifter** (on manual transmission model)
The TRACER 9 GT (standard transmission) comes with Yamaha's third generation quickshifter system. Working in conjunction with the YRC ride modes, the shifter facilitates clutchless upshifts and auto-blip assisted changes down the gearbox with a wider operating range than before.
Adjustable semi-active electronic suspension
Developed especially for the TRACER 9 GT, KYB's KADS (KYB Actimatic Damper System) electronic suspension is the most advanced system found on any Yamaha production motorcycle. Governed by the six-axis IMU and ECU, the adjustable units are linked to the YRC mode and dynamically adjust damping to deliver an optimal riding experience in a variety of load and road conditions.
Smart key technology with central locking luggage
Yamaha's Smart Key System allows you to fire up the TRACER 9 GT without a physical ignition key. The key fob operates while in proximity of the bike and allows the central locking and unlocking of all functions, including the steering lock, fuel cap and the standard hard side cases, which remain secure whenever the smart key is out of range. When fitted, Yamaha's genuine accessory top box also operates in the same way.
New electronically adjustable windscreen
The TRACER 9 GT delivers improved wind protection thanks to a redesigned front fairing and windscreen. The new wind tunnel developed arrangement reduces buffeting to ensure both rider and pillion arrive at their destination fresher than ever, while the electronically controlled windscreen now offers 100mm of stepless adjustment to allow the rider to fine tune the aerodynamics to meet their own specific preferences.
Customisable ride modes
TRACER 9 GT offers a highly customizable riding experience thanks to Yamaha Ride Control (YRC). This allows the rider to tailor their ride to match conditions and preferences. Three factory settings come preloaded (SPORT, STREET and RAIN) while two custom maps can be programmed through the dashboard menu or using the MyRide app, helping the rider choose their preferred engine power characteristics and electronic interventions.
Cruise control and speed limiter
Confirming the TRACER 9 GT's mile munching capabilities, the standard fitment of cruise control allows the rider to cruise the highways in comfort. Engageable from third gear, the cruise control can be adjusted in increments of 1km/h or 10km/h. A speed limiter function is also fitted, for times when the rider just doesn't want to creep over the limit!
More comfortable ergonomics for rider and pillion
The 2025 TRACER 9 GT receives a new, 50 mm longer subframe to provide more space for both the rider and their passenger. This is combined with seat pads, which are flatter and more generously padded, and a revised handlebar position. These allow for a more relaxed posture and increased comfort, particularly on longer journeys. The TRACER 9 GT is more accessible at standstill too, with the saddle shaped to be slimmer at the standover point.
